Well these are my absolute favourites and if anything is going to get me fat over Ramadan, it’s these- cheese filled pancakes served with a sugary syrup…………….dream on.
Inside, I usually put cream cheese, but some people put cream and others walnuts.
- In blender, add water, cream of wheat, instant yeast and sugar. Blend.
- Slowly add flour and blend. Add baking powder and baking soda. Blend well. Cover and let rise until small bubbles form on the surface.
- Heat griddle on high heat. Blend mixture one more time before you cook on griddle. Pour mix onto griddle into medium circles.
- Once the cake is golden brown on the bottom, remove from griddle – do not flip over.
- Let cool on rack.
- Take medium katayef pancake, place one tbsp of stuffing of walnut or cheese stuffing.
- Fold over katayef, pressing the edges of the dough together in a pirogue shape.

Or you can fry them ( hint, VERY unhealthy!)…..
Then dip them in a sugary syrup and eat while hot.

Eveille dans les champs les vers comme les roses;
— Charles Baudelaire

A very, very frightening thought, image, possibility has arisen…..More tapes about Silvio Berlusconi’s sleaze scandal have been released – this time apparently of the Italian leader after having sex.
I don’t even want to imagine how horrible that could be.
Sky News reports : ”The recordings were made by high-class escort girl Patrizia D’Addario, 42, who insists she spent a night at the 72-year-old’s home. In an explicit conversation, the woman is heard praising a man, said to be the prime minister, for his “performance”.He replies she should have “sex with yourself more often”.Political insiders said the graphic nature of the recordings could prove fatal in Mr Berlusconi’s close relationship with the Vatican.”
Well yes, stating the bleeding obvious there, aren’t we…..
Silvio says she may have visited his home, but he can’t remember her ( were there so many? ) and in any case he would never have paid as this would have spoilt the conquest…….how very……”Italian”…..LOL
Oh, and guess what, the ‘girl’ in question was 42- you old rogue, you like the older women, don’t you? Well there’s hope for all of us…..I knew there was a reason I loved Italians.

The dollar signs were probably flashing in ‘Doctor’ Conrad Murray’s eyes, in true Tom and Jerry fashion $$ $$ , when he was appointed Michael Jackson’s personal physician/ drug dealer. It soon turned into a farce of Disney proportions as we imagine MJ stretched out on the bed, doped to the eyeballs and the good old doctor trying to remember his basic first aid, CPR, and failing, again……
Now the police are on step away from issuing a manslaughter charge against him, as he is the target of a manslaughter investigation into the singer’s death. A receipt for a search warrant shows that police have found : 27 tablets of the weight loss drug phentermine, a tablet of the muscle relaxant clonazepam, two hard drives, notices from the IRS and a controlled substance registration.
If there is any professional doctor governing body in the USA…….I’d be asking a ‘cardiologist’ why he had diet pills in his medicine cabinet…..wouldn’t you?
And why are there still no other pictures of him available except the smiling Bill Cosby one????

Michael Jackson’s brother Tito is accusing Doctor Conrad Murray of murder.
”Grieving Tito Jackson claimed Dr Conrad Murrays dithering as he tried to resuscitate his stricken brother wasted vital minutes that might have cost him his life. He accused the physician of not acting quickly enough to get help and said his methods of revival were far from the standards expected of a qualified doctor.Tito claimed Dr Murray began flapping when Jacko collapsed at his Los Angeles home. The 55-year-old said: My opinion is that he panicked when my brother didnt wake up.I think the doctor probably figured he was in trouble and he tried to revive Michael.”
Ya figure?

Naughty girls don’t get the state’s blessing in India these days as the state sponsored wedding officials are demanding virginity tests ( now sorry , but let’s not even go in to how ridiculous that is in this day and age of bicycles and tampax….) and pregnancy tests.
A row has broken out in the central state of Madhya Pradesh after some 151 girls were ordered to take the tests. The results showed 15 girls were pregnant. These brides were then excluded from a mass ceremony in Shahdol. Well, better than 151 pregnant…..
Kudos to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan for his attempt at a sound bite the UK Labour would be proud of, as he said they had not carried out “virginity tests” but the girls had simply undergone “procedural medical examinations”. Mmm, yes, open wide, but not too wide.
Just a thought, but were 151 virginity (or STD tests) carried out on the grooms?

Rain , snow and freezing fog in Kuwait?
No that’s just wishful thinking on our part……………oh for a drop of water in this inferno. My very nostrils feel on fire and I have had to put vaseline up my nose to stop it burning…….what on earth did they do before AC?
Well this morning’s Arab Times tells us the’ Ahmadi police recently raided two apartments and arrested 41 Asian women who had reportedly advertised in their mother tongue inviting men for what they called ‘temporary marriage’, reports Al-Anba daily. A security source said the advertisements placed on apartment walls said the marriage pleasure cost KD 3 for one hour. All those arrested have been referred to the concerned authorities…..’all heating up even more down KOC way then……
Several Kuwaiti cadets have contracted swine flu in the UK- let’s hope they don’t intend to return to Kuwait to visit mama and baba…..or have they just manufactured a cough and the sniffles to miss parade?

Richard Cass buried a red rose in the Blue mountaiuns, a rose for his son, the son he believed he would never see again. 12 days ago Jamie Neale went for a walk that turned into a walkabout. Missing for akmost 2 weeks in the harsh Australian wilderness, rescuers and family had almost given up.
The 19-year-old had last been seen leaving a youth hostel in Katoomba, New South Wales, early on Friday July 3 to go for a trek in the rugged region.
When he failed to return, a search operation was launched – a check of his room revealed he had left his passport and mobile phone behind. Not a good idea when you are trekking off into the wild. In a dramatic development, the teenager was finally located by other hikers in the Blue Mountains, who alerted police.
Without food, Jamie survived on seeds, grass and a kind of lettuce and slept under a log during his ordeal.

That little girl Paris looks like she could do a good job of bringing up little Blanket and keeping her eye on Prince Michael- he really needs to learn that chewing gum in such an obvious manner at sombre occasions just isn’t acceptable…..reminds me of a French lady I had the misfortune to teach with some years back. She used to teach and chew at the same time- a wonder of nature. I’m not against gum, I love it, but I hate three things a) constant chewers b) talk and chewers and c) open mouthed chewers.( I should add to that mourner chewers, perhaps).
It seems, claim the tabloids, that Debbie Rowe and katherine Jackson have struck up some deal between them to prevent old Jaws Joe Jackson from gettiung his hands on the kids and their money. Lawyers acting for both women are said to have met on Friday, for talks on how to exclude Joe Jackson from bringing up Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Blanket. Under their deal, Katherine will raise the children in accordance with Michael’s will – but Debbie, who will drop her custody claim, will have regular access.
