A rose in the blue

July 15, 2009

Richard Cass buried a red rose in the Blue mountaiuns, a rose for his son, the son he believed he would never see again. 12 days ago Jamie Neale went for a walk that turned into a walkabout. Missing for akmost 2 weeks in the harsh Australian wilderness, rescuers and family had almost given up.

The 19-year-old had last been seen leaving a youth hostel in Katoomba, New South Wales, early on Friday July 3 to go for a trek in the rugged region.

When he failed to return, a search operation was launched – a check of his room revealed he had left his passport and mobile phone behind. Not a good idea when you are trekking off into the wild. In a dramatic development, the teenager was finally located by other hikers in the Blue Mountains, who alerted police.

Without food, Jamie survived on seeds, grass and a kind of lettuce and slept under a log during his ordeal.

Swine flu death update-doctor fails to diagnose

July 13, 2009

SKY NEWS:

”A “perfectly healthy” six-year-old girl died of swine flu within hours of being taken to hospital after complaining of a sore throat, it has emerged.

Chloe Buckley, from north west London, died on Thursday a day after her GP wrongly diagnosed her illness.

Sky reporter Victoria Gatenby said: “Chloe’s parents took her to their GP on Wednesday with a sore throat.

“The GP diagnosed her with tonsillitis, sending her home without Tamiflu, which is the drug that combats swine flu.”

The youngster’s condition quickly deteriorated and she was taken to the accident and emergency unit at Hillingdon Hospital in Uxbridge.

On Thursday she was transferred to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, but despite doctors’ efforts she died.

Chris Spencer, director of education and children’s services for Hillingdon Council, said: “This is a little girl who until a few days ago in all our minds was a child that was perfectly healthy so everybody here is in a deep state of shock.””

Absolutely terrifying thought that doctors are MISDIAGNOSING this!!!!!!

Debbie or Katherine- who will play mama and where’s the gum?

July 13, 2009

That little girl Paris looks like she could do a good job of bringing up little Blanket and keeping her eye on Prince Michael- he really needs to learn that chewing gum in such an obvious manner at sombre occasions just isn’t acceptable…..reminds me of a French lady I had the misfortune to teach with some years back. She used to teach and chew at the same time- a wonder of nature. I’m not against gum, I love it, but I hate three things a) constant chewers b) talk and chewers and c) open mouthed chewers.( I should add to that mourner chewers, perhaps).

It seems, claim the tabloids, that Debbie Rowe and katherine Jackson have struck up some deal between them to prevent old Jaws Joe Jackson from gettiung his hands on the kids and their money.  Lawyers acting for both women are said to have met on Friday, for talks on how to exclude Joe Jackson from bringing up Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Blanket. Under their deal, Katherine will raise the children in accordance with Michael’s will – but Debbie, who will drop her custody claim, will have regular access.

Call 911? But where are we Michael?

July 12, 2009

Prize winning Doofus of the Week has to be the infamous Bill Cosby lookalike, Dr CONrad  Murray, who ( after possibly administering illegal anaesthesia to MJ) couldn’t call 911 for up to 30 minutes, because he ”didn’t know the address”…..

No, sorry, I don’t buy that. He is a doofus, yes, but not for (not) not remembering the address, but for using such a lame excuse to try and cover up the fact that he was probably running round the house like a blue arsed fly trying to get rid of any evidence.

Please Mr/Dr CONrad – time to fess up.

How to get a Hawt post on wordpress.

July 12, 2009

I have been asking myself that same question for quite some time now.

Is it the avatar?  – no because someone this morning didn’t have one.

Is it the title? Do you need a number in it? A question? A symbol? -no

One particular blogger is a regular Hawt post ( he of the meteorological updates and moustache)- so is it a moustache that gets it? Or is he actually Mr WordPress?

Is it that we ( merely featured pos holders) blog about past news but the Hawt poster blogs new info, as yet unseen on the net? Maybe.

OK- so here is something new,in this age of anti skin cancer sunbathing self tan remedies……. red henna powder, named ‘dam gazal’ ( deer’s blood) in Arabic mixed with turmeric and a drop of water , rubbed over the skin and left for an hour or so before being washed off gives a glorious golden warm tan….but if you rub it on your nails, it turns purple.

Am I Hawt now?? Aha…maybe you aren’t allowed to use coloured fonts……..aha, no I’ve missed again.

La Toya knows who murdered Michael

July 12, 2009

newsNews of the World claims la Toya Jackson says she ‘knows who murdered’ her brother Michael……maybe they tapped her phone to find out? Michael Jackson was effectively “murdered” for his money in a conspiracy by shadowy hangers-on, his sister La Toya has said. Describing him as the lonliest man in the world, L aToya says that when a man is worth over a billion dollars, people will do anything to get his cash…… people will do anything for just a few dollars these days, can’t imagine what the prospect of a billion might do to even the most respected professional……

So what’s this Bruno thing all about?

July 11, 2009
Bruno at the back with the curls and the taxi driver father......

Bruno at the back with the curls and the taxi driver father......

Frank Bruno?

Bruno from Fame?

What’s going on? Am I living in a time warp and do I need to get out more often? It seems so.

I think maybe it isn’t really me, but I’m not sure.

What Jack Said

July 11, 2009

It is reported that Jack Waterhouse, the boy at the centre of the teacher assault case,  had sworn at the science teacher and goaded “f*** off and have another stroke” before he was attacked with a 2kg weight used in lab experiments.

This came after a girl had refused to give the teacher a book she had torn up, and others had teased the teacher.

Peter Harvey- what are other teachers saying?

July 11, 2009

Checking on the TES website this is the chatter about the Peter Harvey/ Jack Waterhouse attempted murder case.

It seems the teacher had just returned from sick leave having suffered a stress related stroke. The science class he was teaching were taunting him with ”Man in the Mirror” by Michael jackson, but had changed the lyrics to “Psycho”…..

Arrested on suspicion of attempted murder is rather different from being charged with attempted murder. However, since it is (I would imagine) highly unlikely that the teacher in question had the chil’d death in mind when he caused the boy’s injuries, I suspect (and hope) that the charge, if any, would be reduced to that of aggravated assault.

Quite right. I mean surely the teacher did not lift the weapon in order to kill the child? unless someone heard him say ”I’m going to kill you”, then it should be aggravated assault.

Whatever happened his career is over, presumably after a couple of decades. There’s no point in prejudging,  nor should we, but I’m sure we all have scenarios in our minds which can allow us to have enormous sympathy for the (assumed) poor man.

Totally agree. While I have no sympathy for the action , I can relate to being in that situation with students who you just want to make shut up…..
