Swine Flu and School

August 27, 2009

Oh it’s all getting a bit worrying, tho’ some asses would have you believe there’s nothing to worry about. Four deaths in a week in Kuwait and school starts soon. Are there any proper precautions in place? I doubt it. If there is a mass outbreak will they cope? Probably not. Am I sending my kids to school? NO. If you care, you won’t either.

Conrad Murray may be in for a bumpy ride

July 24, 2009

The dollar signs were probably flashing in ‘Doctor’ Conrad Murray’s eyes, in true Tom and Jerry fashion $$  $$ , when he was appointed Michael Jackson’s personal physician/ drug dealer. It soon turned into a farce of Disney proportions as we imagine MJ stretched out on the bed, doped to the eyeballs and the good old doctor trying to remember his basic first aid, CPR, and failing, again……

Now the police are on step away from issuing a manslaughter charge against him, as he  is the target of a manslaughter investigation into the singer’s death. A receipt for a search warrant shows that police have found : 27 tablets of the weight loss drug phentermine, a tablet of the muscle relaxant clonazepam, two hard drives, notices from the IRS and a controlled substance registration.

If there is any professional doctor governing body in the USA…….I’d be asking a ‘cardiologist’ why he had diet pills in his medicine cabinet…..wouldn’t you?

And why are there still no other pictures of him available except the smiling Bill Cosby one????

What’s new, with the flu?

July 24, 2009

‘There’s no need to panic’, are you fed up with this observation too? Well considering that one hundred thousand new cases of swine flu have been recorded in the last seven days in the UK, there may well be a need to panic……that’s about 14,200 new cases  a day…….and the thing that is worrying me is that it is fatal, if  ( and here’s another soundbite) ‘you have an  underlying medical condition’ – but how do I know if I have an underlying medical condition, if it has NEVER BEEN DETECTED?

Don’t worry, 100,000 in 7 days and counting…… but ‘there’s no need to panic’.

And don’t even get me started on the new school term in September……kids who spread disease through playing, kissing, hand holding and generally falling all over each other will be little incubators of the disease…….

Swine flu death update-doctor fails to diagnose

July 13, 2009

SKY NEWS:

”A “perfectly healthy” six-year-old girl died of swine flu within hours of being taken to hospital after complaining of a sore throat, it has emerged.

Chloe Buckley, from north west London, died on Thursday a day after her GP wrongly diagnosed her illness.

Sky reporter Victoria Gatenby said: “Chloe’s parents took her to their GP on Wednesday with a sore throat.

“The GP diagnosed her with tonsillitis, sending her home without Tamiflu, which is the drug that combats swine flu.”

The youngster’s condition quickly deteriorated and she was taken to the accident and emergency unit at Hillingdon Hospital in Uxbridge.

On Thursday she was transferred to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, but despite doctors’ efforts she died.

Chris Spencer, director of education and children’s services for Hillingdon Council, said: “This is a little girl who until a few days ago in all our minds was a child that was perfectly healthy so everybody here is in a deep state of shock.””

Absolutely terrifying thought that doctors are MISDIAGNOSING this!!!!!!

Student death

July 13, 2009

I think we all need to go into some kind of 21st century hibernation. This swine flu is getting out of hand. Another death in the UK, this time at a primary school and a little girl.

Chloe Buckley, from north west London, died on Thursday at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington. She was 6 years old and as a mother I send my heartfelt sympathies to her parents and family.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out to determine if she had any underlying health conditions.

Dr Simon Tanner, from NHS London, said: “We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the family at this difficult time as they come to terms with their loss.”

He said Chloe had contracted the virus in the UK.

He described her death as “sad” and added: “It will probably not be the last that we have in this pandemic.”
